Hi, we’re Storygrounds!

We are founded by a team of humans who have worked within entertainment and games for decades, and we have some thoughts. During our time within these worlds, we’ve come to realize the creative process is broken. Being story lovers through mediums such as games, comics, novels, and entertainment, has sparked a desire to bring the love of the story-telling process back to the communities who love them.

With these thoughts in mind, it helped us form some of our core beliefs:

- Everyone is a storyteller

- Creating stories together is more fun than doing it alone

- The format of webcomics for storytelling is awesome

- Making webcomics can feel more like a game

- People should be rewarded for their contributions

Storygrounds was born from our desire to make collaborative storytelling easier, more fun, and super social. We want to provide communities with the tools to tell stories and build worlds together through webcomics.

Our mission is to build the best platform to empower anyone, regardless of skill level, to be creative. We want creators & fans of WAMMM (Webcomics, Anime, Manga, Manhwa, and Manhua) to feel like they have a voice & support in the creative process:

- As a fan, to be able to create a webcomic with creators they enjoy, while helping to shape their new favorite stories.

- As a creator, to be able to truly engage their reader/fan community(s) while bringing them into your creative process, leading to greater success.

- And for all, a much deeper bond between the creator and fan/reader community.


As a preface, we understand that applying to any role is a bit scary. From here onwards, read knowing that this is ideally what we want but what we are seeking is more than just a list.

We are currently seeking a passionate Mid or Senior-level Community Manager to join our Storygrounds team! We consider this role as one of the most integral positions on the team, as our community means the most to us. Our ideal candidate is someone who lives and breathes community, having an innate interest in fostering a lively, engaged, fun, and positive space that they can also enjoy as well. Yes, this is a job, but we don’t want it to feel like it’s one. :)


  • Be the leading voice in our community day-to-day within Discord, Facebook, Twitter (X), Instagram, and other socials, to activate existing audiences, drive Storygrounds into new conversations, and connect with other like-minded individuals and communities to drive awareness and interest in Storygrounds.
  • Monitor communication and conversation efficacy and help best to optimize quantity and type of content and communications.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to release and promote content and conversation that generates engagement (most importantly, discussion) and sharing.
  • Foster a fun, safe, and wholesome environment for our core community to communicate, share, and engage with Storygrounds and creator programming.
  • Own all Discord activations – Live events (AMAs, creator features, readings, etc.), and choose what technology support is needed to reach our goals on Discord and other channels.
  • Attract and engage helpers, moderators, and evangelists and ensure they are oriented and successful. The stretch goal is the creation of an ambassador program.
  • Help manage and create community initiatives and campaigns in partnership with the marketing team in order to scale.
  • Stay up to date with competitor community initiatives.
  • Find solutions to issues that may arise in the community, developing clear strategies for de-escalation, cooldowns, and other forms of conflict resolution.


  • A passion for WAMMM (Webcomics, Anime, Manga, Manhua, Manhwa) and graphic novels.
  • You have 4+ years of work experience in community management. We are also accepting less experience if you have deep experience with creator-driven products and communities.
  • Experience building community programs and channels from scratch.
  • Ability to develop strategies as well as roll up your sleeves and get into deep into day-to-day execution.
  • Strong knowledge of communications strategies and community management rubrics for Discord, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X, and more!
  • Desire to unleash all your creativity, positivity, and unique perspective on the daily.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and manage conflict. Interpersonal effectiveness and ability to manage both positive and critical feedback professionally.
  • Ability to work autonomously, set an agenda, and prioritize work with minimal input.
  • Comfortable working remotely with a global team and a global community, across multiple timezones.
  • Comfortable with possible travel.


  • Experience using Google Suite.
  • Experience with Discord stack, bots, and other tools.
  • Experience using Tools such as Slack, Notion, Zoom, and Dropbox.
  • Experience creating small graphics or banners (f.e. for live events).
  • Experience managing and copy-writing Newsletters (f.e. In Mailchimp).
  • Experience working in a startup environment.

$50,000 - $95,000 a year

The above salary range only captures the approximate market rates within the USA, as well as our budget for this position. The final base compensation will consider additional factors such as the location of work (candidates outside of the USA are welcome), living costs, and of course, the interview itself.
