Lead Backend Engineer

Full-time / Product & Engineering / NYC or Remote

About

Uncommon is developing a personalized NFT discovery and management platform. We enable NFT collectors to discover new collections, make informed decisions, and access available financial services.
Our team is backed by notable, crypto-native VCs & angels. Since the early 2010s, we have built platforms around internet culture, and we have been working in crypto since 2017. We are currently seeking an experienced backend engineer who has knowledge and excitement for digital ownership, web3 technology, and culture.

Our tech stack is NodeJS (primarily CommonJS), PostgreSQL, Redis, AWS, and Heroku.

Responsibilities

Design, architect, and optimize backend infrastructure & integration workflows
Write well-crafted, well-tested, and documented code
Improve and refactor on existing large NodeJS codebases
Collaborate with our product team on defining and building new features
Build and manage a team of engineers

You have

Experience in building & maintaining high availability infrastructure
In-depth experience with modern technologies like NodeJS, PostgreSQL, and AWS
Experience creating programmatic APIs
Passion for collaborating closely within a team and leading backend development in early-stage products
Knowledge of current trends in blockchain engineering, non-fungible token platforms & projects
