A quick overview of the role
We are seeking a Junior/Mid DevOps Engineer to support all engineers and business departments at LI.FI and Jumper.exchange. As the gatekeepers of best practices and security, our DevOps team is responsible for platform stability and observability. You will join as the third member of the team, primarily focusing on application deployment and infrastructure optimization, reporting to our Lead DevOps Engineer.
Please note: This role requires you to be located in EMEA. Your application will not be considered otherwise.
The current tech stack of LI.FI utilizes:
Github, ArgoCD, Kubernetes, and Terraform for our GitOps deploy chain
MongoDB and Redis for our LI.FI data
CloudFlare for everything CDN related
AWS to host all our LI.FI infrastructure
GCP to host all our Jumper infrastructure
PostgreSQL for our Jumper data
The Prometheus stack for monitoring
What you'll do
Support the backend and Jumper development teams with special requests such as production database access and log investigation
Develop, maintain, and evolve infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Support in building dashboards and metrics to gain greater insight into infrastructure and systems
Help set up processes and automation for monitoring, alerting, and logging across systems
Assist in the continuous improvement of our CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure
Ensure compliance with our architecture, information security policies, and engineering strategy by applying standard methodologies, processes, and tools
Support in solving and preventing operational issues
Exciting projects you'll be working on
Migration AWS > GCP for a subset of the team's workload
Observability improvement
Traffic mirroring with nginx
Introduction of service mesh
What makes a good candidate
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, or a related field
Extensive professional experience (at least 1-2 years for Junior and 3-5 years for Mid) in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) role
Proficiency in Python or shell scripting
Experience with Terraform or Terragrunt
Proficiency with one of the cloud providers (AWS or GCP)
Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
Experience with CI servers like GitHub Actions
Familiarity with application deployment using Kubernetes, ArgoCD, and Helm
Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction within the team and external stakeholders
Ability to work well within a team and independently, with a proactive and self-motivated approach
Curiosity and willingness to go the extra mile to learn and understand
Ownership and accountability in your work, seeing tasks through from start to finish
Passion for technology and continuous improvement
Willingness to quickly and successfully embrace and adapt change
Willingness to learn and grow within the role
Professional experience in web3 is a plus
Knowledge of TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js is a plus
Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Google Professional DevOps Engineer, or similar, are a plus
