Metalabel is a new space to co-release and collect creative work. Our purpose is to help artists come together to co-create labels and put out work together, inspiring a new creative era of mutual support.

We’re looking for a passionate Creator Liaison to join our team.

As Creator Liaison you will join our small Creative team. Together we recruit and support artists and groups to release work with us; help tell the stories of those works with those artists; and support the wider Metalabel ecosystem of creators and collectors.

The ideal candidate should have a deep passion for creative projects and the people behind them, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with lots of context-switching. You’ll be responsible for outreach and curation of notable groups and creators to bring their projects into the Metalabel universe and ensuring their success.

The role is full time. Candidates based in NYC preferred.

Key responsibilities

Curation

• Identify local and global communities and spaces of creativity across categories: Art, Culture, Design, Games, New Media, Publishing, and Video are our initial focuses Share with creators why they should co-release creative work on Metalabel

A&R

• Direct outreach and curation of notable groups and creators - includes sourcing and bringing on people and projects who have a significant audience into the Metalabel universe.
• Guiding inbound queries, applicants, and questions to a satisfactory resolution. This includes people applying to be part of Metalabel and approving their releases.

Label Success

• Working directly with a varied portfolio of creators and groups to help them have a successful experience on our platform.
• Serving as an advocate for creators to elevate important issues and help them better understand Metalabel
• Answering inbound support questions and tracking feedback and patterns to help improve the overall platform experience

Community Engagement

• Lead creator onboarding and educator sessions and other wider audience opportunities
• Supporting with newsletter, social posts, and content creation

Platform Expertise

• Developing an expert understanding of the platform and creator tools
• Identifying, verifying, and escalating bugs and technical issues to the build team
• Maintaining our community-facing support resources as the platform evolves

Reporting and campaigns

• Preparing regular reports on labels, releases and community growth
• Creating and executing fruitful strategies and campaigns for bringing groups onto Metalabel

Skills and qualifications

• Brings ambitious new ideas about engaging community in interesting ways
• Passionate about creative projects and the people behind them
• Deep and enthusiastic knowledge of culture (past and present)
• Great network of collaborators and creators who would be excited to work with you
• Strong project manager with a commitment to data-driven and organized work
• Ability to establish new and creative ways of supporting our platform and community of creators
• Flexible, thorough, and empathetic; enjoy providing great support to others
• Proactive problem solver and communicator, say when you need help
• Communicative writer; great at emails, newsletters and social.
• Comfortable with the landscape of digital tools we use including Notion, Slack, and ZenDesk.
• Team-oriented and highly values being part of a tight squad of collaborators

Role and compensation

• Role is NYC-based, must be able to work in-studio
• Full-time
• $60,000 — $90,000, depending on experience
