Description

The Sandbox is a user-generated content virtual world where players can build, own and monetize their own voxel gaming experiences on the Ethereum blockchain, using NFTs and token $SAND. We are building a deeply immersive gaming metaverse where creators get the chance to make games next to gaming giants and brands such as Snoop Dogg, The Walking Dead, The Smurfs and more. The Sandbox has more than 6 million accounts created and is a leading actor in the Web3, Metaverse and blockchain gaming industries.

As the Director of LiveOps at The Sandbox, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing player engagement, retention, and monetization across our metaverse platform. You will be responsible for designing, executing, and optimizing live events, in-game activations, and player engagement strategies for a virtual world. This role is instrumental in ensuring that The Sandbox remains exciting, fresh, and profitable, while maintaining a loyal player base.

Responsibilities:

  • Live Operations Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive LiveOps strategy that aligns with the overall objectives and business goals. Continuously refine and adapt the strategy based on player feedback and data insights.
  • Event and Season Planning: Create, schedule, and manage in-game events and seasons, promotions, and activities that drive player engagement and retention. This includes regular content updates, holiday events, and special promotions.
  • LiveOps Tooling: Work closely with the Product team to design and implement the Event Management tools to allow our teams, and external creators to autonomously launch events and run their own LiveOps activations.
  • Monetization Optimization: Collaborate with the monetization team on tokenomics to maximize revenue through in-game purchases, and other revenue streams. A/B test and analyze pricing strategies and offers.
  • Player Community Management: Foster a positive and engaged player community through in-game communication, forums, social media, and other platforms. Address player feedback and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage analytics and player behavior data to make informed decisions. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), create reports, and use data insights to continually improve the LiveOps strategy.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with game developers, product managers, marketing, and customer support teams to ensure that live events and promotions align with the game's overall roadmap.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of LiveOps specialists, coordinators, and analysts, providing guidance and support to achieve department goals.
  • Budget Management: Manage the LiveOps budget effectively, allocating resources to maximize the impact of live events and promotions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Live Operations for F2P mobile, PC, or console gaming with a successful track record of improving player engagement and monetization.
  • Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of player behavior and in-game economy.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and experience with analytics tools such as Mixpanel, Amplitude or similar.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate and coordinate across multiple teams.
  • Passion for gaming and knowledge of industry trends.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
